There's A New Cook In The Kitchen

DAY 5 – Friday, January 30, 2015

Today I’m off and it is absolutely gorgeous out. It’s not quite warm enough down here for shorts yet, but it’s perfect whether for a light long-sleeved t-shirt and yoga pants. I am constantly forgetting that it’s still the middle of winter. I could totally get used to this weather! I’m cooking tonight’s dinner, which is….BEEF STEW! I threw everything in the crock-pot last night before bed, so by tonight it’ll be perfect and I cannot wait. I’ve been missing the taste of my mom’s beef stew within the past week so hopefully mine will be a little close to that. While it cooks, Deanna, Hayley, and I are walking over to look around the outlet mall.

The one great thing (or bad thing depending on what your bank account looks like) is that the Florida Outlet Mall is within walking distance from The Commons. You just exit the complexes and walk straight through the parking garage across the street, and ta-da, you’re there!

I was good and didn’t get anything today (other than the necessary Starbucks frap), but I’m loving the stuff The Loft has right now so I might have to walk back over there eventually! (:

In the spirit of Disney, and born out of the special immagination of Hayley, we staged a little Haunted Mansion show for when Audrey & Rachel got home from Traditions! Anna, Hayley, Deanna, and I sat at our windows with the lights off, our phones lighting our faces, and randomly knocking on the window once we saw them walk up to the apartment. We had some Haunted Mansion music playing of course too, aha! Hopefully we didn't freak any passing neightbors or cars while we were doing so, but Rachel and Audrey I'm pretty sure had no idea what was going on, ahahahahahah! And as soon as they got up to the door Spotify decided to change the mood and play a Katy Perry commercial...nothing even close to scary music. They started knocking on the door, and I was definitely wondering if they were trying to go along with our theme, but no, they were locked out and couldn't find their keys in their bags. Well, we tried. (Yeah, I know. We're all pretty special, which is why we all get along so well!)

DINNER CONSENSUS: I can actually make beef stew! Needless to say, I’m pretty proud of myself right now because I can actually cook!!! Look at me go, Mom!

If you're curious as to what stores are part of the outlet mall, just check out there site, which I'll link below!
