Disney College Program, Spring 2015

Hello Again! I Have Not Forgotten You!

Well, it's been a bit since I've actually written a post and not just linked my lastest vlog so I figure during my completely boring Global Issues class is the perfect time to catch everyone up on my life and how waiting for my email form Disney has been....since I'm still waiting. 3 and a half ANTANGONIZING weeks of waiting thus far.

But anyway, in the works is my Phone Interview vlog [finally!] and also an Update/Disney Parks Tag, so hopefully those will be finished in a kind of timely manner! lol I have actually cut down on the amount that I check my Dash since I've got this gut feeling that Disney is waiting to let me know anything until after my Character Performer Audition, which is on October 9.

*** THAT'S JUST 16 DAYS AWAYYYYYY!!! ***

I was actually hoping that I'd hear back last week because it ended up being one of the best weeks I've had in the longest time.

Monday) I finally went out and bought my first professional business suit from J. Crew, and let me tell you, that was verrrryyyyyy expensive but the sales associate who helped me, Kat, was absolutely wonderful and so helpful. She brought me all different items that worked with the suit to try on simultaneously to see how I would like a full ensemble. She also helped me find my correct size and a style that fit nicely. Despite the more extensive price, the service and the quality of the product totally got me on board to pay a little bit more! (Do you hear that Tourism & Hospitality jargon!? My profesors would be so proud of me. lol)

Tuesday) So then I FINALLY went to take my driver's text on Tuesday and I PASSED! I officially have a license and am already looking for a car since I've saved up for this over the past few years. This means that if/and when I'm accepted to the DCP I can drive down and not have to worry about not being able to overpack, since I'm pro at that!

Wednesday) I got to see Hunter Hayes for freeeeeeeeeee at Festival Pier at Penns Landing with my friend Shelby and it was completely wonderful. He's definitely has more musicianship than I initally gave him credit for before I saw him live.

Thursday) I was volunteering with the College of Science and Tech in Temple and was just helping set up/run registration for a research synposium and I ended up getting extended an offer to continue working with the activities coordinators for that school because they said they really appreciated my worth ethic and my organization. Their few positive words were something that I really needed to pick me up and tell me that I truly have an opportunity to thrive somewhere in my major field.

Friday-Saturday) I spent the second half of Friday and all of Saturday in Hershey Park with my family. Let me just say that if you haven't been there, it's at least work a short trip just once in your life. You get chocolate everywhere you go and it's all so yummy, and even the hotel smells liek chocolate. Of course it's nothing compared to Disney, but it's still such a cool experience and if I had the money I totally would've gotten a chocolate facial or massage. Oh well, maybe next time!

So there's a good chance that you completely skipped over that, and that's perfectly okay. I just wanted to put out an update and let you all know that I'm still here and I didn't forget about any of you. It's just been a slower time since all I have to do is wait on Disney. Admittedly I have jointed *cough*several*cough* DCP groups on Facebook and the rumors are true, I can confirm that they consume your newsfeed and notification tab. But since I don't have any friends or anything important to actually keep track of on Facebook I'm perfectly fine with that, aha! It does get a bit depressing at times to continuously see people posting their acceptances, but I do appreciate those people that post every once in a while about keeping your head up and coninuously believing in the Disney magic.

Alright, I guess it's about time to end this blog, so until next time, Have a Magical Day!

- Alex
